This is a variation of musical chairs and works well with groups of ten children or more. Get the kids to put their chairs in a ring. Each child is placed into a "fruit group" ie apples or oranges. Each "fruit group" should comprise four or five children. All children must take their seats. An adult calls out the name of one of the "fruit groups" ie "apples" and, upon hearing this, all the "apples" have to stand up and walk around the circle. While they are walking around, the adult removes a chair. At some point, the adult calls out "apples" again and all the apples scramble for a chair. The fruit left standing is out of the game. The adult then calls out "bananas" or "oranges" and either the "bananas" or the "oranges" get to play the game, with the fruit without a chair leaving the game. When the adult calls out "Upset the fruit basket" all the children have to walk around the circle. The winner of course is the last fruit in the basket.
