Arranging one’s child birthday party is never as easy as it sounds, and it’s sometimes said that it takes almost as as much organising as a barmitzvah, 21st, engagement party or wedding. Of course one option that you could take is to hand over all the arrangements to someone specializing in kids parties, where they would arrange the venue, the entertainment, the eats and party packs. If you’re prepared to pay, there is nothing wrong with this option and it will definitely relieve you of the stress and pressure.
If you’re a more hands-on parent, however, and you’d like more involvement in the planning and organising of your child’s party, here are a few tips and pointers to help you:

Involve your child!

A child's party is often the highlight of their year and an eagerly awaited occasion. This being the case, involve your child in the decision-making. Let them choose their own theme (provided it is age-appropriate). And once you have a theme, let them go through the options for a cake, cupcakes, party packs, invitations and party décor.

Who to invite?

These days, it is often tricky deciding who to invite and who not to invite to your child's party. Always remember that if unsure about a particular child, it is best to extend an invitation. (Kids talk and if one child has been purposely left out, he or she will soon hear about it). Rather invite the child and leave the decision as to whether he or she will come up to the child's parent.

Your invitations.

Prior to sending out invitations, always make sure that all the necessary information appears on the invite. The day of the party is often stressful and being inundated with calls asking you for directions to the venue can only add to your stress levels. Ensure that the date, time, theme and venue is clearly indicated on the invitation. And if you want people to RSVP beforehand, make them aware of this!

Setting up the party.

When setting up a party, remember that balloons not only add to the party atmosphere but also provide entertainment for the kids as well.

Bring down the costs.

Whilst there will always be those who want to go the whole hog, many parents will be looking to cut costs where they can. One way to do this is to use plain-coloured plates and cups instead of the more expensive themed plates and cups. (Or buy one packet of themed plates and cups and intersperse them with plain ones). Another way of cutting down costs is to forgo the usual clown/magician.
